I promise, pictures will be uploaded.
Just for now, I will talk about the last 30ish hours.
I am a little more than loopy right now, so I am sorry if this is long. Little sleep has a tendancy to do that to people.
We were scheduled to be called for a room by the hospital sometime the evening of the 2nd. This is similar to what happened last time. Eight o'clock came and went, and still no phone call. So at 8:30 I called. They said that we were on the list, and to call back at 10 if we hadn't heard what time to come in. So we did. Called back and were told that we should be getting the call to come in at Midnight to come in. So we called back at midnight and asked what time or should I just go to sleep. She said, keep the phone close, but definitely go to sleep.
At 3:00 the morning of the 3rd, I got the call to come in. We were here well before 4:00. Six other couples came in with us. All scheduled to be induced. Hello baby factory.
Somewhere along the way, the housekeeping staff couldn't keep up with the demand, so it got later and later for them to call.
Instead of getting my knock out pill, we had to fill out paperwork. Then we finally got our room, and more paperwork. I was able to get some sleep at 6 and slept until 8. At that point, they broke my water and started the potocin (sorry for spelling, I am loopy - will edit later where necessary).
My contractions were really progressing.
At around 11 - Mic went to get some lunch. sometime around then is when I got my epidural. My new favorite doctor is Dr. Wheeler...he gave me my epidural.
When Mic came back, Mom left to get lunch.
They came in and asked me to switch sides, since Liliana didn't like me laying on my right side. When I turned over, they checked me and said "Whoa, looks like you are ready to go...Let's get the doctor in here."
I had Mic call Mom, who after the second call answered her phone and made her way back to the room. This isn't the first time this has happened in my family. When Mom was having Jacob, Dad and the doctor went to get lunch. She was crowning and they had to ditch their trays to get back to the room.
She made it down and we began. It took only a half an hour of pushing for Liliana to make it out. I am much less sore this time than the last. I am just a lot tired.
We have had her in the nursery a couple of times, just trying to get caught up on some sleep. I probably wouldn't have moved her there, if I had a decent night's sleep on the second.
Julia seems to be doing great. She will meet her sister tomorrow.
Anand, Heather and Vikram came to visit this morning. Geoff, Cheryl and Katherine & Alex came this afternoon. They were followed later by Pop and Uncle Isaac. Uncle Jacob couldn't make it due to unfortunate employment issues which hopefully will soon be vacated.
Alison is going to be coming in the next hour or so.
Lily is asking to be fed. All is well in our house.
Katherine came in and was looking at the belly. Julia came over, put her hand on my tummy and said, "Lily, Lily"
She can say the little one's name!
Tonight we are to go to the hospital.
Hopefully, sometime tomorrow, Liliana will be making her debut!!!!
Julia is a pickle. I am trying to give her as much attention now, as her world is about to change (for the better I hope).
Katherine is coming over tonight and will take care of her tomorrow. This will free MaMaw to come to the hospital first thing in the morning.
Yeah! I love it when a plan comes together.
The doctor's visit went well. We learned that I am between 1 and 2 cm dilated. We have already planned to go into the hospital on the 2nd. We will be induced on the 3rd. Hopefully sometime that afternoon, we will have our baby girl in our arms.
The doctor was able to feel Liliana's head.
I have had a few contractions, but nothing that has been consistent.
I will keep you updated if something else happens over the weekend. There is still a chance that we will be going in before the 2nd.
Called the doctor. He wants me to come in and get checked out.
Mom has called. She has left (at my request she is leaving EARLIER than she had expected to).
Alison and Avi are coming over to take Julia and myself to the doctor. Mic will meet us there.
Julia and I were playing in her room. There is a toy she got from

So other than a few hysterical cries this week - Stress over Mic not being well, and now the hospital bill because my insurance is a POS (and I don't mean point of service), I am doing well.
Torn
Wouldn't mind having it, and you can't beat the price.
But I don't want to spend any money. We have room to store it in the basement, but no room to play it.

Back in the great state of Georgia. Back to my house. and I will be back in my bed in a little while. I am so glad we went, but even more now to be home.
Today, he was watching Julia for me while I was taking a shower. I finish up, and go into the office to find them on the computer. Some smutty things were up on the screen. I said, "Richard, you have to be careful what you pull up around the kids."
He said that he thought he was going to the National Geographic site (somewhere on myspace). He then took me to the preview links. One of them did look like the National Geographic logo titled "Bed bugs". The other one that he apparently went to before I came into the room had three muppet type monsters. The title was "Fur TV". He didn't need to click on it for me.
No matter how cute the link was, it was NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN.
I left the room laughing.
Last night, I was giving Julia a bath. We are still at the grandparents' house (well, the first of the two we will be visiting this week).
MeMa put plastic Easter eggs in the bath for Julia's bath toys. I was in there with her when she started saying, "six, six, six, six".
I know she can say egg, and usually does when she sees them. I picked up the egg, and sure enough, they numbered the bottom of some of the eggs. She did indeed have the number 6 egg.
I then picked up the number 5 egg. I asked her what it said. She was able to tell me "five".
She might not be able to count verbally to 5, but I know she knows her numbers :-)
Kevin Bacon said that he once made the mistake of masturgoogling - basically looking himself up on the internet. He discovered this video, and Graham felt the need to share it with the world.
We showed it to her and had her sit on it fully clothed. Just letting her know that it was there. I want to get her comfortable with the concept before she is ready to be potty trained. I just thought it would help in the process for her.
Tonight was the first night of it being in the bathroom. I undressed her and took off her diaper. I then sat her down on the potty chair. When I went two steps out of the bathroom to throw away the diaper, I come back in to a little girl peeing in the potty chair. Yep, she used it first time out!!!
I don't expect this every time. And I need to get in the habit of asking her if she needs to go to the potty chair. Just getting her familiar with the concepts will help later down the road.
ETA: - the next morning
I know I will be expecting some set backs. Especially once Liliana is here. I hear stories of older siblings reverting back to diapers. I am fully prepared for two in diapers. That's what happens when you get knocked up so close together :-)
This morning was great. After breakfast, she took off to my bedroom. She went into the bathroom that has her potty chair and sat down on it. I took off her diaper and she went again.
The doctor printed out my patient file for me to take on our trip to Florida next week. So much stuff still to do. I need to get some laundry done. I need to remember to pack Julia's birth certificate. Apparently that is the ID that she will need for the flight.
I think Mom is leaving tomorrow. Isaac requested that she stop on her way through and allow he and his better half to go out for the evening. I am still not sure she is leaving tomorrow, but we will see. Originally she was scheduled to stay until Saturday.
I thought I better mention that it is NOT CONTRACTIONS, only because a got a call from a concerned family member who was misinformed.
I have a doctor's appointment on tuesday, so I will be able to discuss with the doc at that time what I have been feeling. The pain goes away if I lay down (on either side) and put a pillow between the gap of the mattress and my big belly. Sometimes sitting down helps too...but only if I have support under the hanging part of my stomach. I still have two and a half more months to go. If I am this big now, no telling what the rest of the pregnancy is going to be like.
Something about it didn't seem right. Instead of clicking on the link, I went into myspace. I don't see the comment. Looks like there is phishing going on.
I didn't expect this response:
"you bought a Wii!!!! We have been looking for one since before Christmas...where did he find one? and how can I get one? "
It just cracked me up. I know that the Wii is for their grandchildren. I just had this image though of these two grandparents playing some of the games.
Needless to say, turns out I was already pregnant.
After some adjusting of everyone's schedule, we picked this upcoming weekend. Still didn't know where - Huntsville or Chattanooga. We were just throwing out options. Huntsville was close to Karyn and Alicia - heck, Karyn was going to "host" for the weekend. Chattanooga was as close to halfway for all of us. Since Alicia called for this, we left the option with her. She chose Huntsville. She said she would like to save a few bucks. Totally understandable, as I want to save a few $$ too. Mic gets great discounts (Marriott associate's rate). Spliting a $35/night hotel tab is doable, but a free place to stay is a great way to go.
We get an email from Karyn the other day that says she and the boys are running a fever. This is after the month of illness that they have been battling (UPHILL). Over Easter, her poor boys even had STREP. YUCK.
With the fever, she decided that they needed to go to the doctor. Now we find out that they have the flu.
Karyn is encouraging us (alicia and me) to still get together. If we don't do it now, then it will be JUNE before Karyn is free. She has a couple of showers to either throw or attend, since her brother is getting married. Then her son is having his FIRST birthday party. Follow that by her brother getting married. At this point we are in June now. First weekend is Alicia's son's birthday. Can we say that I won't be going anywhere in June???
On top of when based on the girls' schedule, we should also consider the daddys' schedules. Jay had to rearrange a few things MONTHS ago to clear his schedule for this weekend. Mic is an easy one, I just ask, and I can get.
Once Liliana is born, then I won't be able to go on a girls' trip for at least a year. I don't mind and don't resent this, just stating a simple fact. Although, I realize that Liliana is a girl, it is not the same as mommy leaving the kids at home and going somewhere.
